NEED A JOB?

Fluid social change can only materialize if two circumstances are met.

1) The human value system, which consists of our understandings and beliefs, must be updated and changed through education and thoughtful introspection.

2) The environment surrounding that value system must change to support the new world view.

The interaction between a person's value system and their environment is what influences human behavior.

For example, in our culture, "ethics" is really a matter of degree, for our social system promotes and rewards competition and self-interest. This perspective doesn't just "lead" to aberrant behavior... it creates it directly. Corruption is the norm in our society and most people do not see this, for since the society supports this behavior, it is considered right and normal... or as a matter of degree.

Given this understanding, there is a fallacy that has emerged where certain groups are deemed "corrupt" and everyone else is "good". This is the age old "us and them" world view which has no basis empirically, for it is, again, all a matter of degree.

For example, there is a large movement of people who constantly talk about "The New World Order" and this notion that there is an elite group of people who have been trying to take over the world for a long time and have manipulated society in various ways to further their goals.

This, of course, is true to a certain extent.

BUT, the failure of awareness is that this "group" is not a group at all. It is a tendency.

If you took out all the people at the top who are engaged in global hegemonic rule, it would simply be a matter of time before another group stepped in to seek the same ambition. Therefore, it isn't the individual people or groups that are the problem. It is actually the conditions upon which those people have been accustomed and indoctrinated by. Of course, many argue against this view with the escapist notion that it is "human nature" that causes this competition and need for dominance. This is unsupported by the facts. In reality, we are nearly clean slates when we are born and it is our environment that shapes who we are and how we behave.

Therefore, in order for TRUE change to occur, we must spend less time battling the products of this sick social structure and more time trying to change the root causes. As difficult and daunting as it may be to think this way, it is the only way our world will change for the better.

We can continue to stomp on the ants coming out from under the refrigerator, but until we remove the spoiled food behind it, they are just going to keep coming. Peter Joseph [The Zeitgeist Movement]

Blogging is easy....

WoW, sometimes a year just passes by and you wake up to realize that you haven't posted a thing for a year.

....Meanwhile, life happens.....

Obviously I did NOT stick to the plan of 2 THINGS! I guess I wanted more than just a life style change.
But it was the right direction. As I researched more and more about the power of foods
I got into raw foods and discovered DANIEL VITALIS and spring water!!!

We've been going to Long island twice a month since December to a town called Cold Springs
and that is the ONLY WATER we drink. I believe that water is even more important than food.

Long story....
.....I am going to Eden Arizona in April for a whole new experience. (don't know what yet) TBA

Stronger

Some days you're just not that strong.
Especially when you have to work through the night.
It's 3:30 am and I'm still at work!
I'm STARVING.
We had dinner at around 7:30 yesterday but that was only seven hours ago.
must
be
strong

Life happens

I have been through a few ups and downs since my last visit.

My kid got a horrible stomach virus that we fought for an entire week

and then more drama at work....we were told that all freelancers are now

only allotted 29.25 hours a week! (Thank God for the 0.25???) That's seven hours less than the average.

Oh well. At least it's not zero, right?

So what does all this have to do with this blog?

Knowing that food is so closely related to our emotions it was quite a challenge keeping it together these past few days. Worried sick about my kid, worried about losing my job...

I think I passed. I only cheated one time! All other days I stuck to three meals.

Like I mentioned earlier in the blog, I consumed almost all my calories at night after I got home from work. After dinner, I would eat large amounts of chips and for dessert I would have a candy bar almost every night! I had to ask myself:

What was I really trying to fill?

So I started this blog to see if I can figure this all out...

You're hot then you're cold...

The weather in New Jersey has been moody for the past few days. Just a few days ago it was snowing. Before that it was in the 70's.
I think that's why I got sick. I know it's a lame excuse for not posting the second video yet.
Maybe it wasn't the cold; Maybe a traveling germ jumped on me and got me. Got me good.

But I am still able and willing to report on the progress:
Still sticking to the same routine. Three meals a day and four days of light exercise.

Nights are the toughest. I eat one meal around seven PM but that one is big. I am eating desert after dinner. And sometimes even after lunch. -bad- Tonight I am not having desert!!!

Just the fact that I have stopped eating after seven PM is a feat. Snacking all through the night up to 11 pm sometimes even midnight was really bad. No more snacking!

One day next week I will try to skip one dinner. Ultimately I was to skip dinner 3-5 times a week. Valerie Bertinelli sure is an inspiration!

Cycles

WoW, It's working!

I am very exited to share my first week's results. I'm pretty sure that I have lost some weight even tough it may not be visible to everyone. I feel it when I get dressed and I see it on my face.
But you can be the judge when I post my second video.

So all I have been doing is eating three times a day, every day, always at the same time of the day.
Like three cycles.
I even have desert- right after I eat tough-so it's not a snack but part of the meal. I'm not eating anything special, not omitting any food groups. Just eating whatever I want as much as I want. Sounds good?
Well, the hard part is skipping the snacks I've gotten used to.

Yesterday was the hardest day because it was Sunday and I am used to snacking A LOT on weekends.
But I stuck to the routine and only cheated ONE time in one week. Not bad.
I figured I can make up for it by skipping dinner tonight! (maybe not)

The day after....

Got up at 6 this morning to go to the gym. I wasn't tired and the workout was OK.
The last time I worked out I went to a Bikram yoga class in New York.
Bikram is intense. It's an hour and a half of 24-poses in a heated room. (around 90 degrees)
But the crazy part was that I took my bike there.
It was a 30 minute ride (one way) then the 90 minute yoga and 30 minutes riding back home.
I almost died that day.
But that was over a month ago.

So all in all it was a great class. We did a 30 minute aerobics round and weights for 20 minutes.

More importantly I am sticking to my 2THINGS rule:
I'm eating 3 meals a day, every day, at the same time of the day (NO SNACKS)
AND
working out 3-5 days a week ;)

Cheers!
